This week's photo inspiration!Getting inspired with Stampendous stamps! My card began with the background using a Stampendous Cling Mixed Mesh stamp and Antique Linen Distress Ink. I separately stamped the floral and hummingbird images on watercolor paper (Arteza) using Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Images colored with Peerless Watercolor Sheets and then fussy cut. Here's a close up of the fussy cut flower that was mounted onto the background panel. Hummingbird was mounted with 3M Foam Tape. Sentiment (Stampendous) stamped using The Misti and Onyx Black ink. Pearls are A Muse Studio.

I loved this week's challenge by Anita because heat embossing isn't a technique I do very often. After playing with a few design attempts, I settled on a smoosh watercolor background after heat embossing the image. To my surprise, the smoosh covered only a portion of the card front panel but I rather liked the result! So many options were swirling around my head about the area to the left of the embossed image...do I splatter? do I tear the? do I cut it? Dilemmas for sure! I ended up adding a seam binding bow, (adding mailing bulk) but it's such a pretty card, I went along with it. Paper: Canson

I began with a smoosh technique onto an acrylic block with 3 rows of Distress Oxides. After liberally spritzing, I pressed the block onto Strathmore watercolor paper. While drying the panel, I spritzed it to create water drops. The sentiment was stamped using The Misti. Rose was diecut onto watercolor paper and painted with Peerless Watercolors and then mounted with foam tape. Supplies

I've been painting what I call 'blob' flowers on 5x7 Strathmore Watercolor paper this summer. It's a wonderful exercise in being loose and free without over thinking. After choosing a paint color (Koi) and a #10 brush, I started at the top and worked down making shapes happen with a wet brush on dry paper. While the flowers were still wet, I dropped in a second color. For the stems and leaves, I changed to a #6 brush and dropped in green at the base of the blob in hopes it was still wet enough to spread on its own. Once dry, I added paint splatters in the darker blue paint. Here's my interpretation of Trinstan's diecut window. I glued several diecut happy (Sizzix) words together in black cardstock (FSJ) and finished the top layer with a wash of blue (Cerulean I think) watercolor paper.
