Nice and simple sketch this week! Couldn't wait to play.

The horizontal panel was made with two strips of washi tape! The sentiment didn't quite fit after the flowers were affixed, so I lifted one of the flowers and simply pushed it over! Sweet pea flowers were water colored.

I love the process of developing a card from a sketch! I'm now in Florida for a couple of months and have less supplies here than in New York. I kinda like the challenge of working with what you have on hand!
Here's my card:

My biggest challenge was creating the oval focal point. I had an oval die and wanted to wrap something around it which required fussy cutting from another stamp company. The different panels were telling me to watercolor and play off of the focal florals. I even stained the bow string with Distress Oxide to match the overall card. Happy with my vision and how it turned out.

Once I painted the rose image, I looked for border papers and found Wintertime 6x6 papers by Penny Black worked great!!! Nuvo Drops and splatters filled in the white spaces. Happy with this card.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #316

This is my FIRST post to Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge Blog! I was drawn in by the daisies and colors of yellows, white and greens.

Here's my inspired design:

My card features a favorite stamp set from Stampendous (Cling Daisy Mix). I actually stamped each flower onto colored cardstock, other than the white flower. I added color with color pencils and blended with Gamsol and blending stumps. Love the look of penciled watercolor! Even the leaves were colored with green pencil and blended with Gamsol.

Stamps: Cling Dasy Mix (Stampendous), Sentiment (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Papers: Fun Stampers Journey, Darice Cards & Envelopes

It's funny how some weeks designing comes easy and some weeks not so much. This week was a bit of a struggle, but don't ask me why. I now see a shaded left sidebar on the sketch that I totally missed in my design. See what I mean???
