A Muse Studio Saturday

It's the last day of February and I decided to enter A Muse Studio's February Creative Challenge.  The theme is Shine Bright.  Elements such as Glitter, Crystal Clear Glaze, Twinkles & Pearls, clear cardstock, heat embossing and more can be used.  Plus it was a good excuse for me to finally play with February and March's new collections.

Well, I must have re-designed one card 14 different times because I couldn't zero in on one design that I liked.  After awhile, it came together and here it is:

Picture
This is a no-line watercolor and as many of you know, I LOVE to watercolor!  I stamped the front mason jar first and then masked it using Eclipse paper so I could stamp the larger jar 'behind' it.  Then I used Distress Antique Linen to stamp the flowers.  Use a fairly light ink so it will 'disappear' during the watercolor process.  I mostly used wet to wet water coloring, which just means I wet the watercolor paper in little sections at a time with my brush and then added paint.  Paint the little section and go to another section that isn't next to the area just painted; otherwise, your colors will bleed.

A diecut acetate mason jar is affixed over each of the stamped mason jars images.  It's difficult to see, but I painted a wash of light blue water in the bottom of the jars.  The stamens are embossed with A Muse gold embossing powder.

A Muse Studio Supplies:

Stamps:
Mason Jars
Be Brave
Charming Gardners

Ink:
Versafine Onyx Black

Paint:
Tombow Markers

Hope you enjoyed my springy card!

Break out the frou frou! For the month of February, the Dream Team are going Frilly and Fabulous! Vintage, retro, or modern, adding extra charm with fun Fran•tagé products from Stampendous, ribbons and lace from May Arts, buttons, crystals, charms, or even creating your own dimensional decor! A snippet or a pile, whatever your creative heart desires! Remember to link your creations using the Inlinkz tool on the Dream It Up! blog for a chance to win the stencil of your choice! Bonus points for using Dreamweaver and/or Stampendous product in your work of heart.

Here's what I've been playing with:

I fell in love with the FEATHER stencil (LG760) and had a vision to give it some dimension.  I traced the stencil with a pencil onto watercolor paper and proceeded to paint with acrylic paint adding layers of color and just playing.  It needed some depth so I sketched around it with a charcoal pencil and washed some grey (shadow) acrylic paint around the outside perimeter.  Paint splats and Stampendous Spoonful of Snow & Embossing Powder were added for interest.  Friends was a partial stencil from Fine Feathered Friends (LM2009) using Splendor ink and a 1/8" stencil brush.  White dots were made with a Signo Uniball pen.  Ribbon May Arts, papers Core'dinations, A Muse.  Resin Bird Maya Road painted with acrylic paints, pin my stash.

I really wanted to title my post "Monday Madness" but that sounded too negative.  Yesterday I was informed by GoDaddy the following:

"...looks like the database tables were messed up for some reason.   You will need to re-import the site again, so if you can get the ftp credentials, hostname, wp-admin: username and password. You can go ahead and try to re-migrate. The other option is to manually migrate the website, but that can be a daunting process.  During the migration process, I would advise you to disable all the plugins. Sometimes plugins can affect a migration.  We do have migration services available as well to assist you with this process."

Can you believe my luck here????  I barely got my domain transferred properly and now I'd have to re-transfer my blog information (since I've had since 2011) again with no guarantees it would migrate correctly.

After a brief poor me, ain't it awful, tearful (yes, tears!) moment, I just put my big girl panties on and checked out this Weebly.com site that I've been looking at.  It's user friendliness was very attractive and so are their little how-to videos.

So, it's 4 pm and I just poured myself a glass of wine and am pressing on...

I want to post something creative to get my head back where I prefer it to be, so I can go to work on re-building a new (and hey, maybe improved) blog.

This is Authentique's Classique Beauty Collection and it is oh so awesome!!!!
