I I've been away on vacation and just got back. Here's a recent project I painted on drill cloth fabric with Gelli Arts plates and fabric paints. This will become a 20x20 inch pillow for my Florida home. I'm gaga over this technique and believe Geilli Arts is creatively addictive. Thanks for stopping by!

I'm posting a second 12x12 "Garage Art" painting I made for my son, his girlfriend and their dog, Wyatt. They loved it so much, they moved it from the front enclosed porch to the living room! Here's a photo of Wyatt that I worked from: Now all we need around here in Upstate New York is to experience the actual season of spring!!! I might be asking too much...
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo LYN Since I wasn't using a visual reference, I found I enjoyed the process of flying blind that this painting is a result of. This piece is 12x18 140 lb. Canson watercolor paper. Working larger than an A2 size card (which is where my background originates), really alters the scale of objects. I had intended on painting 3 large flowers and quickly realized I needed to add a lot more to fill the space! As I generally put myself through agony trying to decide whether to outline or not, I ultimately went with painting the black outline. The movement of the background wash is quite a contrast to the bold statement of the flowers, as if they're floating on water! Anyhoo, thanks for stopping by! xoxo LYN Here's my submission to this week's PPF. I call it garage art 'cuz I hang a seasonal piece near the entrance into my kitchen. Right now I have a snowman piece but it's still winter here and I won't hang happy spring 'til the darn snow is gone! This is painted on 12x12 gesso board purchased at Hobby Lobby. It was a beautiful surface to work on. The dimensionals were from my stash. Diecut words are mounted on craft foam to create more depth. Happy (SU I think), Spring (A Muse Studio). Diecut butterflies (A Muse Studio).
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo LYN Oops, guess I skipped a couple of weeks of partying! However, I've been painting and loving whatever it is I'm working on at the moment. Here's a little something I sketched from a photo while in Florida recently. The flowers are called Brugmansia Pink Angels Trumpet. They are huge flowers too! I used Koi watercolors and Master's Touch 6x8 watercolor paper. Here's the photo I used for my little painting. Hoping to get in some painting time this afternoon!
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo LYN Another 5x7 watercolor card for PAINT PARTY FRIDAY #50 practicing florals. I've only been watercolor painting since 2016. I cased this piece from a pinner even though I added my own bits of whimsy. Worked with my Koi Water Colors Pocket Field Sketch Box. Sentiment (Paper Smooches Fun & Flirty), inkpad (Versafine Onyx Black), pearl elements (Viva Decor Pearl Pen Ice).
It's nice having creative time and though I miss my husband who's on a trip, there's nothing like a stay-cation to refill the need to create art without any obligations!!! Thanks for stopping by! xoxo LYN Guess I'm on a roll today painting a second 5x7 card of abstract flowers. Had to add scribble lines to better unify the flower 'blobs.' I used my Koi Water Colors and had all kinds of fun here! Kinda whimsy doodle fun!
Thanks for stopping by! xoxo LYN It was good to sit down and paint a little something today! I'm so wanting winter to be over as evidenced by this warm floral card. This was a good warm up if I were going to paint something larger. It's a great design for re-creating additional flower cards in different colors. Paint Party Friday is open to everyone. There are no rules. Just enjoy painting and posting what you've created!
xoxo LYN I love snowdrops and I love the idea of saying goodbye to winter! I get a good feeling with this little painting knowing winter is half over. I used my Koi paints and Tim Holtz watercolor paper.
xoxo LYN I'm happy to say that I've practiced painting this week since my last post to Paint Party Friday. This week's work is featured in more detail in my E-News scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 8th. I created several pen and wash cards for Christmas thank yous and enjoyed getting my sketch on for a variety of whimsical cards. I sketched the snowman with pencil, then outlined with a Copic pen. I used my Koi paint palette to add color. Sentiment (Simon Says Stamp Hand Lettered Winter Wishes) was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black. A snowy blizzard was created with Stampendous Chunky White Deep Impression Embossing Enamel that is sprinkled on and then heated with a heat tool from underneath.
