Celebrating Fathers - May 24th Release and Hop!

Hi everyone!  I'm so excited to be part of Creations by AR's Design Team and have joined just in time to participate in the Blog Hop showing the latest template releases!  The template I chose is called Papa's Trunk and it is a beauty to work with.  I began with Tim Holtz's Paper Stash Crowded Attic papers.  For the hinges, handles, clasp and padlock, I used duck tape and alcohol inks!  Just lay the tape over cardstock prior to cutting.
Here's another view with the mini book tucked inside.  Dimensions for the mini book covers are 2-3/4" x 3-5/8".  The inside pages dimensions are 2-1/2" x 3-1/2".  The word 'my' is a little tile bead that was colored with alcohol inks along with the initial 'P'.
Here's the closed trunk with the mini book inside.  A Melissa Frances resin keyhole is affixed to the front of the padlock.  Wood beads were stained with Ranger Distress Stain and hot glued onto the trunk.  Use lots of Distress ink (Vintage Photo) to really give the trunk an aged appearance.
Okay, now for the best part of our blog hop....You get to win a PRIZE just by leaving a comment on my blog!  One random winner per blog will receive one of the new templates!!!!  I will announce the winner this Saturday here.
Click on the next Design Team member on the list below to continue hopping!  Have fun!!!!

Wow - love the details you put into this!!! Great vintage trunk. Did you sand the edges before you inked them?

Great idea for the "leather" handles!! You probably could have put back to back duct tape to make it even more flexible.

What binding did you use for your mini book?

Love the keyhole - I'll have to look those up - sooo cute!

My dad is celebrating his 80th birthday this year - I think this would be great for a gift! I could coordinate it with a larger chipboard album...the possibilities!!

Karin - I did not sand the edges for this particular project and just inked. oooo back-to-back duck tape is a super idea! I used Bind-It-All o-rings.
