Stamping Bella Samplings

I'm having fun with the newest line of stamps by Stamping Bella. They are unmounted and all you do is add a piece of double sided tape to your acryllic block to hold it in place. In a pinch, use a wood mounted stamp and place the unmounted on the index (or wood) side of the stamp!

· Holiday Impressions was wonderful and the positive feedback we received was the best part for me. Moving lunch over to Sami’s restaurant was a great idea and our numerous door prizes were totally over the top. I appreciate all who attended our event, my wonderful designers and instructors and the personal satisfaction I have that our event gave so much to so many people.
· Everson Tree is right around the corner and I’m totally psyched for the new location at Shoppingtown Mall. Of course, I’m looking at virtually two years of card accumulation and need to begin now packaging our cards. Just as a reminder, if you do make a card for the Everson Tree, it needs to be an A2 (4-1/4 x 5-1/2) to fit our cellophane sleeves. This year, I purchased cellophane sleeves that already have a hanger attached, which should be easier overall to hang onto the tree. I’m going tree shopping any day now!

SEPTEMBER MEETING REPORT
The September meeting was all about cards using leaves and the colors of autumn. We made four cards that focused on some tried and true techniques that we’ve forgotten or were new to some. I even pulled my old Encore gold pad and Colorbox Petals that I haven’t touched in years and they were just like new! Here’s the gist of some of the four techniques:

Creating a background with a script stamp, then stamping over with a solid image and stamping over that with an outline stamp of the same solid image. We added gold Dew Drops for interest.

Matchbook fold in my fav new size 3-1/2x5-1/2. I grabbed another favorite script stamp to create a background and then overstamped using smaller leaves in 3 different Adirondack inkpad colors. We added the new tiny pom pom trim and a word stamp. Loved that card!

Direct to Paper technique was next as the background and then stamping an image on top of that, adding two punched leaves, a Prima flower and sweet ribbon to finish the card.

Finally, since I love pattern paper so much, I focused on two different pattern halves, two border punched strips and then added a cream strip of leaves stamped in gold dissecting each half. The word September was added in the lower corner for an added touch.

We had several fun door prizes and our Halloween swap cards were beautifully created. I really enjoy looking at each and every card with all the positive comments to go along with them.

OCTOBER SWAP: Thanksgiving
October means we look to November for card swapping themes and the obvious is Thanksgiving. Most of us have stamps to go along with this theme, but if you don’t, think about making a card of thanks or blessings or autumn images that could certainly work for a Thanksgiving card. Please make a second card identical or different for our Everson tree!

OCTOBER PROJECT: One Stamp…How Many Ways?????
In keeping with seasonal themes, I have found a stamp at the Shoppe that screams to be used in numerous ways. I won’t tell you which one it is, but I will tell you it will be a gently used door prize when we are finished because it is so cool! I love giving myself challenges like this!!!!
